This is a video of Bubba who happens to be a beautiful German shepherd in Kuwait with one of our trainers doing an advanced obedience training session. The commands seen in this video include Sit, Sit down, stay, play dead, rollover, commanding a dog off-leash and much more. Bubba is in his final week of training which means we still have to polish up some of his commands which would generally generate a faster response.
Advanced obedience training usually requires a lot of patience and outdoor because it really is seen as a giant step up from basic obedience training program which is a prerequisite course to this. Owners can expect to see results after at least 4-5 weeks in their pet's responsiveness and demeanour, however, this also includes at least 60-90 minute daily sessions. What people most often assume is that once their dog is trained, the skills their dog's pickup are permanent for as long as the dog lives. This is a myth because if you don't constantly practise these commands, expect your dog to forget them in about 9 to 10 months. Before returning dogs to customers or when purchasing a trained dog from us, we always make sure to have a few supervised sessions between our staff, the owner and his dog to ensure that all the parties involved are comfortable and correctly giving commands to their pets and how to correct future mistakes. This is absolutely vital because there really isn't anything more annoying than having a fully trained dog you've invested soo much in ignore you or not behave in a proper manner.
